The BCCI President Shashank Manohar has assured his Pakistani counterpart Ejaz Butt that the Indian Team will visit Pakistan as per schedule early next year.
According to a press release issued by the PCB, Butt and Manohar had a telephonic discussion about the tour on Tuesday.
Manohar told Butt that he has written to his government for the clearance of the tour and the BCCI is expected to get a reply in the next ten to 12 days and the PCB would be informed accordingly.
India is due to tour Pakistan to play three Tests, five One-Day Internationals and a Twenty20 game from January 20 and the itinerary of the tour has been agreed upon by both the Boards.
But the tour is subject to clearance from the Indian government which this month stopped its junior hockey team from touring Pakistan for a Test series as it was not satisfied with the security arrangements made by the Pakistani authorities.
The PCB has talked about shifting the series to a neutral venue including England or switching the series with India in case the Indian government does not give clearance for the tour.

Is the first family of Indian cinema finally showing signs of breaking? No, not really, but rumour has it the young scions of the Bachchan clan – Abhishek and Aishwarya that is, are planning to move out of Jalsa – the family house.
The couple have been living there with Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan since they got married in April 2007.
The gossip doing the rounds is that the duo has bought a large flat in Pinnacle Dreams in Juhu. The house is close to Jalsa, therefore they will always be just a few minutes away from the parents.
Big B however has denied the news. “Abhi has no plans of moving out”, he said firmly expounding their happy Indian family status. He might be right, Abhi may not have plans to move, but now he is hardly responsible for himself alone. It’s always possible that the wife wants an independent life.
The couple were not available for comment because they are somewhere in the midst of thick forests in Kerela, where they’re shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Ravana.

Rahul Mahajan was voted out of reality TV show Bigg Boss after he refused to apologise to Bigg Boss on Monday night.
Reports say the production team had stopped the four contestants Raja Chaudhury, Zulfi Sayed, Aushutosh and Rahul Mahajan from escaping the sets.
After the incident Bigg Boss had demanded an apology from the four guys. While the other three apologised, Rahul refused to do so as a result he was evicted.
“Rahul will not be seen in Bigg Boss anymore as he broke the laws,” say unconfirmed sources.
Reports are that a lot of money has been placed on Rahul Mahajan in the market as many traders felt his chances of winning Bigg Boss were the highest.
